Anyone that knows me knows that this is my favourite time of year. Yesterday kicked off the best basketball tournament on the planet and if you missed day 1, you missed quite a show. With everything going on (or not going on) in my life, basketball always seems to lift up my spirits. I love to watch any and all games. Its great to see different systems, players, and coaches try to do their thing to advance and move on.
Yesterday had all the you can ask for: double overtime b/w Florida and BYU, a scare to most brackets (including mine) for 'Nova (common Scottie you need to do better than 2-15), a buzzer beater sending Murray State past Vandy, the top seeds handled their business (although it took Kansas a bit of a wake up call), Butler hit 13 3's in their game, a couple of Big East teams didn't show up (Notre Dame and Georgetown).
What will today bring? Who knows? If you ask me, I'd love to see Duke become the first #1 seed in history to lose to a #16 seed. I think that would be cool. Check out Even Turner from Ohio State today. I think that he should be a top 3 pick in the draft. Look for Purdue to lose to Sienna (Purdue hasn't been the same without Robbie Hummel). Cornell could shoot their way past Temple. That's just a few things that could happen today. Even though my brackets survived day 1 (kind of), I'd love to see any and all upsets. Enjoy.
