Literacy In a Student's Life
Here's another video for school. It is the same as my last assignment but this time, I have to find out how a students engages in literacy. So we were asked to interview a student in high school if possible to get their views on literacy in thier life. Lucky for me, I knew one from work and she was happy to help out. Enjoy

First Video of the Year
Untitled from Mitch Catacutan on Vimeo.
So here's a little video a made for school. It's based on the literacy practices that take place in my life. I, like some in my class, thought that literacy was just being able to read and write but it's much more than that. Music by Saint Kris. Enjoy

Season Over Before It Starts????
So I haven't written in a while and this is actually the worst time for me to start doing this (maybe it's the best time who knows?) but whatever...
Shout out to Tavian Dela Cruz and Bennett Mableson who I haven't given props to yet. Peyton's Bday is coming up soon so I'll be able to get some pics of them to post up on here (although everyone who reads this has already seen them)...
Shout out to Saint or soon to be aka Saint Kris to the rest of the world, who's hard work has him doing some crazy stuff right now. I always say that you get what you put in and I know that Saint has been working hard in all aspects of his life these past 5+ years I've moved to Winnipeg. Great Stuff! When does he start acting??? Just throwing it out there.....
Shout out to Cam and Eric, these guys have been instrumental in helping getting Saint out there whether it's the videos, the shared links on facebook or tweets, to calling into Hot 103 for "Saint Kris O'Clock". I'm sure that Saint has been shown his appreciation for everything. I just wanted to say thanks too. I don't know exactly why but I do....
Anyways.... to the post...
Withoutthe NBA this season I needed something to fill in my time (like I'll have alot of it with school, work, coaching, soccer and basketball), I decided to finally do a fantasy draft with some buddies (Joel, Judd, Glen, Jarrett, Trent, 12 in total). To be honest, I didn't prep very much for it. I had my top 3 picks in my mind and I went from there. I decided with #1 AP (RB-Min), 2 Rogers (QB- GB) and 3 Vick (QB-Phil).
I ended up with 8th pick and watched all 3 go in that order, I ended up with Aarin Forster (RB-Hou) (I actually called his name out "Adrian Foster") as my first pick. I had locked up on of the top 3 RB's on everyone's wish list online and coming back I was looking to take another high end running back to secure the foundation of my team (in fantasy football, RB's are the highest valued players cuz they get the most touches and chances to score TD's). I found the perfect pick - Frank Gore RB- SF. Not only does he play on my fav team but he is the Stud of my fav team so this would be the prefect pick for me coming back. It'll still leave me with a high end QB.
As the person before me picked his player leaving me the chance to pick Frank Gore, I took one last look down my sheet if there was anyone that could possibly be a better pick for me. As I looked down my sheet and I actually started to announce my pick, I saw Peyton Manning as the 28 or 29 ranked player in the draft and I instantly though of 4000+ passing yards (1 pt / 10 ys = 400+ pts) and at least 30+ TD's (6 pt / TD = 180+ pts). So I instead of saying Frank Gore, I said "my NEW MAIN MAN: Peyton Manning". I had just become the biggest Peyton Manning fan EVER!!!! I felt pretty good about my team going home that night even though I don't know much about football.
So a few days later I finally get a chance to catch up on some sports and I see Aarin Foster Tweeting about his hamstring that might keep him out the first 3 weeks. Great! It's a good thing I drafted a bunch of RB's cuz I knew that I would be dealing with some injuries so I was prepared for that.
Things looked good going into tonight. On the eve of the season, Judd texts me at work that Peyton might be out the whole year cuz he had a set back in his recovery from neck surgery. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm not prepared for that. I draft Matt Hasselbeck who's now QB of the Titians (at least I think it was. I don't even know) with my 13th out of 15 picks. Oh no, looks like I might be on the market for a QB. If this happens, my fantasty football season is done and I just donated $40 to someone. Hopefully Peyton makes a miracle recovery and breaks passing and td records!!!
Either way......Go 49ers!!!!! Playoffs Baby!!!!! I've been saying it for the last 5 years and I'll keep on saying it till you do

NBA Players talking about March Madness
Here's a little video I came across with some Pistons players. Ben Gordon and Charlie V went to UConn and Tayshwn Prince went to Kentucky. Now as we all know, their old schools will be facing off this weekend in the Final Four. Here's some insights they give us on the tournament and some friendly trash talking.

Just One More Week
I know it's been a while since I've posted something on here. Graham keeps on bugging me about it everytime he gets a chance. I have plenty to catch everyone up on from the birth of a new Dela Cruz to the road for provincials for my JV basketball team. I have one week left of school with plently left to do (most of it being my own doing) but once I'm done this week, I'll be in my teaching block with a bit more time to spare. So stay tuned......
